Madonna of the Plains

Born from a huge walnut tree on his farm north of Great Bend, Kansas this sculpture was commissioned by Phil Martin and his father and siblings to present to Phil's mother in celebration of the Martin's 50th wedding aniversary. The total height of the piece is 62 1/2 inches with the figure alone being 57 1/4 inches tall. Click on the pictures below to see the beautiful grain of the wood and some close up details.
